As much as we (my mom and sisters) love a good Chinese buffet, we never really frequented Cherry Blossom in Ashland that much but always had a decent experience there. My mom’s friend who doesn’t really like Chinese food loves this place. I went here with my mom a while ago since it had probably been few years since the last time we went.
They have a typical set up, nice and claen and most important of all (to mom anyway) is that they keep everything hot:
The buffet comes with yoru choice of soup, we both got Hot and Sour, I used to always get Egg Drop but in my old age I guess I’m becoming my mother who is a die-hard Hot and Sour fan:
Here’s a little sampling, mom loves their Shrimp Toast so I tried it and thought it was just okay, it was more greasy than anything but when mom tried it she agreed and said it used to be better. Maybe they just had an off day with the Shrimp Toast.
Not bad, but I might not be surprised if it’s another year or two until I happen to go back. They will get loyal business from my mom’s friend though 🙂

The Cherry Blossom was really good in the 1990s. It’s slipped just a bit. I don’t care for their soups and now I usually opt to NOT get the soup when I go there. Even so, it’s still a pretty good Chinese buffet, not as good as ten years ago, but I’d rate it a “B”. I brought a Chinese-American pastor friend (born in Taiwan) there for lunch and he really liked it so that’s got to mean something!

I wanted veal parm to go last night & thought about Nellos, LaCantina , & Catch 22. I had never been to Ctach 22 . I called in an order to LaCantina. It was very good as usual. As I passed through Ashland center I went by Catch 22. It was closed. I am wondering how long it’ been closed. It is in an out-of-the-way location! Do you know anything about them??

We need more All you can Eat Buffets in the MetroWest Area. I wish the resturant near the ski market wouldnt go under every 6 months.
If you make good Chinese food we will come.
